So Long Eden Riegel?

Nelson Branco of TV Guide Canada is reporting that 2005 Daytime Emmy award winner Eden Riegel (Bianca, All My Children) will exit at the conclusion of her four month contract.  Where does that leave Riegel's on-screen love interest Tamara Braun (Reese)? According to Branco, Tamara will be staying on the show, though it's unclear just how long.

Eden returned to "All My Children" last fall during the soaps' much heralded tornado storyline. A pregnant Bianca arrived amidst the storms and went into labor. Less than a week later, her partner Reese came to town. Riegel and Braun, already immensely popular in their own right, quickly drew a huge fan following for their portrayals of the couple. "All My Children" recently earned a GLADD nomination for Best Daytime Drama.

Riegel has other projects as well. Her husband, Andrew Miller is the creator and executive producer of the popular web series "Imaginary Bitches." The series, which stars Riegel as a woman who's friends are all married so she creates imaginary friends who well, are bitches will be back for another season. The webcast, which TV Guide has called "the most shameless pleasure ever" also stars Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe, The Young and the Restless) and Connie Fletcher Staton (ex-Erin, AMC).

It's too late...
AMC completely ruined this couple with the offensive angle of Reese being infatuated with Zach. Kissing Zach the night before her wedding to Bianca is beyond the pale. I've forgiven Bianca's other love interests for screwing around, because it never happened after they'd already become engaged and had a child together, but this is too much.

Given that this SL was just going to get worse and worse, I'm glad Eden's put an end to this offensive insanity the only way she could, by leaving. She insisted that Bianca have a girlfriend this time around, and AMC proceeded to do it in a way that made a mockery of everything she wanted. Instead of an exploration of a lesbian relationship, we got a "Reese falls for her fiancee's sister's husband" SL. Blech. I just hope the wedding does not go through, because we shouldn't have to see the first lesbian wedding be followed immediately by the first lesbian divorce on grounds of cheating.

Why AMC thought it would be a good idea to present Bianca's first wedding in this manner, I don't know. Bianca should have gotten a wedding like GH's Robin Scorpio just had - marrying her true love who only wants her, with tons of flashbacks and spotlighting of the vets and family scenes. We should have seen Bianca asking Jack to walk her down the aisle cuing flashbacks of Travis, lots of Kane Women bonding (instead of Bianca and Kendall being on the outs over the stupid Gabrielle paternity twist), flashbacks of Mona, etc. Not this ugliness.

I hate Ryan, but if he tells Bianca the truth before the ceremony and prevents the wedding, I'll actually like him for five minutes. On the other hand, if he stands there and lets Bianca marry Reese knowing that Reese was kissing Zach the very night before and that Bianca would never marry Reese if she knew, he's DEAD to me. I really liked Rinks, and the actresses were great together, but Reese is no longer acceptable to me as a partner for Bianca.

I really hope they don't bust up Reese & Bianca's family all because they want Tamara to stay and Eden won't. Just let them exit happily for once. I don't want Reese to look like the jerk.
