32 year veteran of ABC's General Hospital, Stuart Damon will be taking on a new role on CBS' As The World Turns, according to reports from Soap Opera Digest. Stuart joins the cast of ATWT and reunites with former fellow GH castmates Lynn Herring (Audrey), Jon Lindstrom (Craig), Julie Pinson (Janet) and Marie Wilson (Meg).

Stuart joined the cast of GH in 1977 as Dr. Alan Quartermaine, son of Edward and Lila Quartermaine. For over 25 years, Dr. Alan Quartermaine has been married to Dr. Monica Quartermaine and they raised 3 children together. Even after numerous affairs, divorces, weddings, and re-marriages, Monica and Alan were still very much in love and were able to forgive each other for their misdeeds.

Stuart was a contract player on the soap up until a few years ago when he was bumped to recurring due to budget cuts. Fans revolted in the hopes of keeping Dr. Alan Quartermaine on the canvas. Due to the fan support a new storyline emerged after the character was killed off in February 2007. After death, Alan became his sister, Tracy's conscience and tried to deter her from making mistakes he knew she would eventually regret.

Prior to joining GH, Stuart is probably most well known for his role of Prince Charming in the 1965 television movie, Cinderella. He also appeared on the soundtrack, performing selections as "Loneliness of Evening", "Waltz for a Ball", "Ten Minutes Ago", "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?", "Ten Minutes Ago" (partial reprise), "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?" (reprise).

In 1968, Stuart appeared as Craig Stirling in a television series called The Champions. Then in 1976, he appeared in a television series called Space: 1999 as Guido Verdeschi. Also during that year, he appeared on a series called Yanks, Go Home as Cpl. Vince Rossi. During his 32 year span on General Hospital, Stuart also appeared on the ABC soap Port Charles (1997-2000, 2001, 2002), as Dr. Alan Quartermaine.

Due to taping schedule on the CBS soap, fans can expect Stuart to make his debut sometime in September.
