Former "As The World Turns" star Martha Byrne (ex-Lily Snyder) has landed on a new soap. Nelson Branco of TV Guide Canada (and SOS's Guilty Pleasure of 2008) is reporting Byrne will join the writing staff of CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful" for a nine week trial run. Martha Byrne...soap scribe...we like the sound of that! Go Team Martha!
It's not uncommon for actors to delve in behind the scenes work. James DePaiva (Max, One Life to Live) joined "As The World Turns" as a director for the soap, and later wrote for "One Life to Live". Returning "Guiding Light" star Grant Aleksander (Phillip) also joined the directing staff of ATWT from 2006 to 2007. John Loprieno (ex-Cord, One Life to Live) earned a WGA and Daytime Emmy nomination for in 2006 for his work on OLTL.
One of the most notable to jump from actor to behind the scenes is Francesca James, who once played Kitty Davis and Kelly Cole on "All My Children." James created a very successful career behind the scenes, having served as a breakdown writer, producer, executive producer or director for six different soap operas since the 1980's. she began writing career on different writing staffs and has had a very successful career in writing.
We hope Bryne's trial run at B&B is successful. It's no secret SOS is totally "Team Martha". It's been our hope Byrne would get back into soaps after her controversial exit from "As The World Turns" in 2008. And though we'd love to see her on our screen, we're perfectly content with Mrs. Byrne behind the scenes…for the time being. ATWT's loss could turn out to be B&B's gain!

Team Martha & The Bold and the Beautiful! O.K. Here goes,I was so upset when they replaced Lily/Martha,I really was not into watching it,I didn't care who Holden was with after that.I think you are a true class act  Im so excited to see that Martha is back in the soaps,writing or what ever.Hopefully you can brinG a new story line other then Brook,Ridge and Taylor.Honestly they have bounced from bed to bed sence the show began,even befor Taylor, Ridge had Caroline.I don't watch The Bold and the Beautiful anymore but if Martha can put a twist on it that would be awesome.I have been a fan sence I was young and I grew up with Lily and Holden!Were sick of the same 10 people sleeping together.Are you professional writers or did someone 'give' you your jobs.I could write you in a story line that would shock all viewers,so where's your BIG PICTURE of where the show should go,the best thing thats's happened to that show is bringing Martha on board.Good luck Martha, if your on then I'm watching,a little advise,sence Ridge has already slept with all the women bring your own man with you.He has aged and not so gracefully,have your own storyline!You are an awesome actress.Make us A.T.W.T. old viewers proud,better yet join The Young and the Restless,you should go to the best and if you don't make changes on The Bold and the Beautiful,it'll be the one that is taken off the air next.GOOD LUCK MARTHA |

WTF!! OMG! Whoever is writing for the B&B are seriously crazy! I hate the show anymore! It used to be pretty good, even did the best they could with such a crappy actor like Ron Moss (He should stick to music! I mean really?) I know they kept him cuz he was hot!! Not for his acting. And now Jackie's married to a hot young guy and thats cool but why waste time with making the audience watch the both of them slam each other around having sex! She's a hot older women, but still!! Not to mention, but have the writers noticed that her son Nick looks older than she?? Sorry, but if this is Martha's idea of entertaining good writing? Wrong!! Besides I'm sorry but she is such a dork! She can't help it, she just is. You can't make someone cool! Please put some dignity back in the show. Even that crappy story line with the Ridge, Taylor, Brooke not only stupid!! BORING!!! Sorry to be so blunt but I'm really frustrated!  |
