A man a woman are supposed to be in equal in their relationship. A relationship CANNOT work if there is no equal footing between the pair. Sam McCall and Jason Morgan have that equality in their relationship. Sam is tough, she can handle the life Jason leads and she can even help. She has stood by his side and been nothing but supportive whenever Michael was kidnapped, he lost his memory, he had brain surgery, and he lost Allan. Elizabeth was nowhere to be seen. Jason helped Sam whenever she was pregnant with Lila, grieved with her and helped her after she lost Lila, helped her heal after losing Hope, stood by her whenever everyone thought she had kidnapped the children, he searched for an antidote whenever she was sick with the virus, there for her after she lost Danny, whenever she discovered Alexis was her mother, and he was there for her whenever psycho Manny was stalking her and kidnapped her.
This pair has been through more than enough and they have still come out strong. Only now, when Elizabeth was supposedly the love of Jason's life and because she gave him Jake, is Sam thrown out of the picture. True love does not work like that. Sam would have been more than happy to raise Jake as her stepson because it would have given her a chance to be a mother, something she has always wanted. But she was never given that opportunity and because of all the lies, sudden suspicion of her, and the fact that Jason was beginning to lean on Elizabeth instead of her, it broke Sam. I would break too if the man that I love, the man that claimed he would help raise my baby (even though his world is dangerous), the man that told me he could never love anyone like he loved me, had a child with another woman (never bothering to tell me either) and was beginning to trust her more than he trusted me, his fiancée, the woman that he loved.
Now, Sam has a chance to redeem her actions by being the one to save Jake and hopefully build a new relationship with Jason. Sam told Jason straight to his face, eyes connected to eyes, that she would do anything to make sure Jake was brought back safely to him. Sam is willing to lay her life on the line, no questions asked or no one demanding it from her, for a little boy that is not her son. But he is the son of the man she loves.
Jason Morgan and Samantha McCall aren't exactly normal with the whole mob deal, but they are normal when it comes to their relationship. There will be times when they disagree, times they want to be away from each other, but in the end, they always stand by each other's side and help the other. This is a love that CANNOT be denied because it is too real, too magical. Steve and Kelly bring to life a couple not just by dialogue, but looks passed between them, small touches here and there, and kisses that any man or woman would dream to have been a part of. They are just simply natural together.
Jason Morgan and Samantha McCall, or JaSam as I like to call them, is the reason I began watching General Hospital, having never been a soap fan before. This couple is the couple I want to be because I want to be an equal to my man; I don't want to have to depend on him to save me. I want to be a part of a couple where whenever I save myself; my man looks at me with pride and happiness in his eyes. I want him to know I can take care of myself. Jason and Sam are that type of couple. The writers had an AMAZING thing when this pair was together and they will have another AMAZING thing when they are reunited. Though their relationship should not be rushed back together, it should be a slow build up to earn back that trust that was once between them, but it should return to what Jason and Sam were.

love is not perfect, it is messy, and ugly, but when you look past all that with jason and sam you simply find two people who truly care for each other. jason and sam has forgive each other and move on countless times to me that's just how love works and it is unconditional.

The chemistry displayed by the character Liz and Jason are opposites that will never attract. Sam and Jason, I do have to argue, are opposites that attract, Jason the quiet mobster and Sam the talkative spunky P.I. And Liz and Jason make me want to take a nap
because in my oppinion nothing is happening there. Truth be told everyone says that Sam is evil and coniving, but I happen to notice those characteristics strongly shown throught Liz, not to add being a tad bit too nosy. Watching pervious episodes made me think so, she tried playing her baby off as Rics and then Luckys. I cannot agree more with what Rachel wrote, and for all the Liason fans it would give me great joy to see a bad ending to the Jason and Liz relationship. I also think that sam is the only one that can handle Jason's job, because all of his ex girlfriends tried to make him quit to make him change something he doesnt want to. Thats like asking a hero to give up their superpowers. Sam doesnt do that and that is what makes a good relationship, not making the other person change or trying to change the other person, she loves him the way he is and him her. Lately he has come to her for everything knowing she'll understand and not become a raging drama queen over it.

Undeniable Chemistry!
I totally agree with this! They are the reasons I started watching GH! They are so great and natural together. Recent scenes prove that. Can't wait for a reunion. Thanks for writing this and you did it in such a respectful way. You didn't have to bash anyone or any other character, like some tend to do. Futhermore, it isn't because Jason and Sam are both "suposedly" criminals, its because of the natutal and comfortable way SB and KM seem on screen, because Jason and Sam just get each other, how even now they would do what is necessary to save each other, because they can communicate with a simple look, because in the beginning they didn't like each other but grew to be friends and eventually fall in love, because he fell in love with her after he forgot about their history, because they believe in one another and they have each others backs. They were a great couple and have that potential to be a great couple again.

off !! If you dont have a tv with a timer on it, and can buy a new one...tell your neighbors & fellow JaSammers|GH'ers to do the same... Tell your neighbors to tune in & try it for a couple weeks, see if your boss will let you have a GH hour once or twice a week...if you have a tv at work, turn on GH....all that bunk about nov|dec ratings being low was bs, and now that they set a 9 mo record, lets make it go higher!!

JASAM the REAL deal!!
VIVA LA JASAM!! NOONE can DISCOUNT the Jasam love!! TWO marriage proposals, WANTING & PLANNING a family with Sam...sorry when 2 people loved each other as much as Jasam, it doesn't evaporate or disappear..it's there, beneath the surface, just like LL2s' imo. Everyone tried to move on and pretend they could all make it work with each ex..denial works that way..getting lost in someone else, realizing, it's not the dream or reality you had planned.
THAT is Liason & Lusam, each trying to change each other...and remember, who is trying to change who? Liz wanting Jason to change, Lucky wanting Sam to change..I see a common thread!
The WINNER is JASAM!! NEVER neither one wanting the other to change! LOVING & ACCEPTING each other for who THEY are as PEOPLE first.

I completely agree with what you have said. Jason and Sam are the main reason I watch General Hospital. They are equal. Sam may have had stories that were all hers (Danny and finding her mother) but she chose to share those moments with the man she loved. He stood by her and helped her find her mother. He was there for her when she lost her brother. She could have gone through those times on her own, but just as in real life she chose to include someone she cared about.
Jason could have gone through his memory loss by himself too but he wanted her to be there. "I know why even now I would do anything for you" Jason said that to Sam when he didn't even remember their relationship. He still knew what she meant to him even when he didn't remember anyone or anything. That's a powerful love. He had the brain surgery for her and for their relationship. He wanted to stay with her. That's devotion.
I too hope that they can slowly find their way back to each other. I'm watching everyday and waiting for it to happen. I'm enjoying every minute of screen time they have together. It's amazing to see the chemistry that Steve and Kelly have together.

I have to agree yes opposites attract but that doesn't mean that it always work out. The reason Liz/Jason and Lucky/Sam will never work is because they are to different. Jason will never leave the mob and Liz will always want him to and Sam will never be a woman who follows they laws and that's what Lucky wants. Bottem line for me is that Jason and Sam belong together. From even before they were together Sam could tell what Jason was thinking without him having to say a word. People say that Liz and Jason have this amazing connection that was there for ten years then where the hell was she when he was dying? I remember seeing her in his hospital as a NURSE with no concern for Jason other than doing job. Where as when Micheal was shot Sam still went to check on Jason even though they had barely been civil over the past year. Over the past few months you could see that Jason and Sam still have feeling for each other simply by the way the still treat each other with respect. I really hope we are heading towards a slow rebuild where they reunite Jasam and make them stronger than ever.

i could not agree more with your post. you are so right about jason and sam, they are the bonnie and clyde of general hospital. They stick together and when times are tough, thats when their trust in one another really shows. opposites attracting is fine and good, but in the real world, a functioning relationship requires some similaries.
i can't wait for guza to final clean up the mess that was SOS and bring us jasam, we have waited long enough !

Jasam are magic
I have been watching soaps for over 30 yrs, I have seen super couples, and I have seen chemistry and JaSam consist of both. If Jason forgives her and they reunite, they will be stronger than ever.
They have great potential.
Liz just does not compliment Jason in any way, shape or form. Yea she gave birth to his son, had it not been for the fact that she got pregnant, Jason would not have given Liz a second thought. She would have returned to her friend status with a quickness.

Can you say magic?
I have watched soaps for many years(I won't say how many)and I can honestly say that the couple "JASAM" were the first pairing that ever made me sit up and take notice and yes, I am including Luke and Laura. When they were in the same room together, there was such a magic chemistry between these two that you couldn't help but want more. I watched them during their road to friendship, trust and finally an undying love that still makes my heart do a little pitter patter when I see them in scenes together. They were so perfect for each other in every way because neither had ever had anyone to accept them for what they were and not try to make them change to fit into a particular life.
Sure Sam does crazy stuff when she gets angry and I know the baby napping was way off, but Sam wasn't the one to do the kidnapping and in my opinion, Sam wasn't exactly herself at that point of her life. There is no way anyone can convince me that Sam would harm a child, much less Jason's child when she was in her right mind.
And then there is Jason Morgan the guy who was always honest and trustworthy, that out right lied to the woman he loved more than life itself. Once again trying to make decisions for Sam without consulting her. If Jason had only been honest with Sam from the beginning when Liz told him the baby was his, none of this would have happened. Sam would have loved for Jason to be a part of that childs life because she knew how much love Jason had to offer a child because didnt she see that with her own unborn baby Lila? We know that is why Liz convinced Jason to not tell Sam because his life was too dangerous and yet she herself changed her tune after she had destroyed Jason and Sam's trust which was the one big thing to both of them.
I could go on and on about why I think this couple is the best thing since chocalate cake, but if you are a JASAM fan then I don't have to tell you and if you aren't then you probably aren't reading this anyway!

awesome post. I totally agree. Sam is her own person but she did love jason. Lucky wants to change Sam and that is just wrong. If you love someone you love them for who they are. Sam and Jason have issue, but when it comes down to it they understand and except each other better then lucky and liz could ever understand them. Lucky wants Sam to be someone she is not, Liz has on more then one occasion asked Jason to leave the mob or complain about the danger. Jason is part of the mob he has been for a long time, Sam is adventurous, to change that about then for two other characters take away from their characters and people who like them. Keep writing and spreading the Jasam love.

I think tptb messed up when they broke up Sam and Jason. They were a strong couple, with alot of potential. In order to put Jason and Liz as a couple. They tried to totally destroy Sam, tear her down, make her a baby napper, and a serial wife and all that other stupid junk they brought up about her past. She was a hated woman, and yes, she made Jason very angry. He even threatened to kill her, but of course, he wouldn't hurt Sam. Whenever Sam was in danger, he was there to rescue her, and when his life was on the line, she was there for him as well, even though they were broken up, the love never died. It was just put away for awhile, but now slowly, I see Jasam coming back, the love is starting to show. Sam and Jason belong together. They should put them back together and fix what they did to them. Rebuild their trust. Make them a strong couple once again...

I keep trying not to get sucked back in by the magic that is JaSam given how tptb broke the hearts of fans back in 06, but I just cant help it...THE ARE THAT GOOD.

does NOT a 'love' make...Jason went right from Sam breaking it off with him, to the alleged baby momma, that is called a REBOUND folks! Plain and simple. Jason has never truely gotten over Sam 1OO%, even when he was angry and threatened her, there was passion and feeling,
something you dont get when there isnt anything there to be angry about. Jason and Sam will always be each others SOULMATES!!
