Soap Opera Source has learned Claire Coffee has been taken off contract. Claire made a statement to her fans at her Official message board this evening.
Hi Everyone!
Claire debuted on General Hospital as quirky Nadine Crowell in 2007, coming to Port Charles after her sister Jolene (Amanda Baker), had fallen into a coma after terrorizing the hospital staff and patients during season one of General Hospital: Night Shift. Over the past year, Nadine found herself in a storyline with the resident Prince of Port Charles, Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher). Their relationship began after Nikolas' fiancée Emily Quartermaine was brutally murdered by Diego Sanchez, the Text Message Killer. After her death, Nikolas began "seeing" Emily due to what was later revealed to be a brain tumor. Throughout the ordeal, Nadine showed her concern for him, relating to him on a personal level. Overtime Nadine fell in love with Nikolas, despite his subtle and not so subtle rejections. It took realizing what life could be without Nadine to make Nikolas realize he cared for her more than just a friend. Recently, GH introduced some of Nadine's family, but fan response was lackluster for the new incoming family members. Prior to joining the cast of General Hospital, Claire had extensive list of acting credits to her name, having guest starred on numerous primetime series and made for television movies. Her interest in acting began as a young child, where she honed her skills as a theatre actress. Claire continued her studies at Northwestern University, majoring in Drama and Theater. Claire’s also been able to show a little of her comedic side on the show with Nadine getting herself involved in situations she probably shouldn’t. Currently she’s also found herself in the middle of the counterfeit drug storyline, interacting with GH newcomer Jason Cook (Matt Hunter), Sebastian Roche (Jerry) and Nazanin Boniadi (Leyla) and vets like Kin Shriner (Scotty) among others. "The drug storyline has been great in introducing me to Port Charles and some of the legacy characters of the show. Jason loves to improvise, so working with him is always fun. Kin is a riot. Tons of energy and so much history with the show!" Claire told Soap Opera Source in a recent interview. We at Soap Opera Source wish Claire all the best in her future endeavors.

I personally didn't care for Nadine as a character, too quirky, bubbly, it was just annoying. But I will be sad to see Nadine being booted out for Emily/Rebecca (not that I don't think Rebecca is a good character since I'm starting to like her...) I think Nadine could have had so much potential, just not for Nik. All Nikodine ever did was talk about Emily and how amazing she was blah blah blah (we got it the first hundred times it was said.). I think Nadine could have really been a good character (aside from the overly quirky/bubbily-ness) and it would have been nice to give her a real story line (not the drug story with Nik) but maybe a story line with... I don't know, Matt? But whatever, she had potential and GH did something GH-ey and threw it out the window.
So, goodbye Claire. You were a wonderful actress, and I wish you the best of luck in the future.

I miss Nadine already. I don't blame the actress for Nadine being not received well it is the writers mistake. I also don't like the fact they are going to make Nadine disappear in the middle of a crisis. Seriously GH, you guys never give importance to a character. I really did not like how they ended Leyla's character.
Leyla and Nadine were good friends. There should have been a scene b/w leyla and Nadine before Leyla passed away or atleast a scene where Nadine showed concern for Leyla. Nothing. I know that they want to get rid of Nadine and Leyla quickly but this is really a disrespect to the characters and the actors. I am so bored of this toxic SL where only mob SLs are given importance even in the middle of a crisis. Always Jason, Sam , Spin are the heroes. Patrick really looks dumb taking orders from the mob team. Anyways, all the best CC.

The nadine character was bad from the beginning, aunt raylene says stupid cows and plows wanna be detective, deportation the only purpose she had was nikolas, the only friend was layla and we didn't see her much at all. Nadine has no history, no depth, no real connection I saw this coming a year ago. The nikolas and nadine pairing was bad for the both of them It made nikolas look dumb and nadine look dumber the writing was on the wall for nadine way before this happened. I'm surprised it took this long.
The only reason she was on the show was nikolas when that started to flop go down hill it was over she had no purpose. She was suppose to be funny, endearing, light but that's not what came off screen she was annoying, just blah blah blah all the time it was uncomfortable to watch eveything they tried to do with this girl failed funny no, drama no just didn't work. First she was a detective then comedic, then aunt raylene suddenly dies and now she's a farmer with a plow patent that the US goverment wants oh and we must not forget bruce her lost love in the war all of this came out of nowhere you can't build something from nothing she wasn't a character she was a sidekick she couldn't stand alone. Nadine was day player who got put in a leading lady shoes and it blow up in there faces slowly but surely you saw the down fall. That was the kind of character that said one liners and when on about her day. Putting nadine with nikolas is what killer her you saw how pointless she was she was a bad joke. They pushed this nikolas and nadine to hard to fast to long, when it failed she had no where to go and the writers tried to save her by trying to make us care that's where aunt raylene's death, bruce being killed in the war, sister in the hospital never to wake up when that didn't work. magically she take on the US goverment and win can you say end of the road I wish CC will but I'm happy to see nadine go doing my happy dance.

I love Nadine. She was fun, refreshing and she had her own personality which lof of characters in PC don't.
The writers never invested in the character Nadine. Let's be honest, till May 2008 all Nik and Nadine talk was about Emily. Then the free clinic on Emily's name. Again Nik whining about Emily. Then may be for a month Nikolas did not talk about Emily and again Nik started his Em talk. I don't get TPTB, if Nik misses Emily so much, why didn't he remember her death anniv? Yeh, we know why. I mean most of the time Nadine and Nik spent together ,was talking about Emily and all the misunderstandings. Anyone can agree on that. So where is the time for the relationship to grow? I don't care if Nik misses Emily or not. But they should not have abruplty end Nadine's SL. Come on this whole Equinox SL belongs to Nadine. Now Nadine is off contract and she will not be palying a major role in the crisis. Bad writing! Please bring Nadine back to PC. Even if Nikadine is not happening, Nadine fans want her on the show. She is fun, and refreshing on GH. Atleast I would love to see her in GH NS if it is picked up. The Crowell sisters deserve that.

GH is really awful these days. Thanks to the writing team and the management. So I don't get this. Nikolas for the past week keeps talking about Emily (we know that he still loves Emily..blah..)and did he forget that he cared about Nadine? Do Nadine and Nikadine fans even have a send off scene for Nadine? Or Nikolas and Rebecca get together in the crisis and he'll forget whether Nadine is dead or alive? Horrible writing GH!!!
Looks like this crisis is going to be all Feb, so we won't know what happened to Nadine. We should assume that Nadine is helping around somewhere in the hospital and Nik will be drawn to Rebecca who is a stranger and looks like Emily. Enough Nikolas! Grow up, atleast be there for Nadine when she leaves town. If the writers end Nik and Nadine abruptly, they are showing dissrespect to Nadine and Claire Coffee. CC all the very best and you certainly deserve a better show than GH.

When the character Nadine was introduced she was funny...then they messed her up and made her all inconsistent, too over the top, too quirky and they killed all the potential she had to create a big fan base. Claire Coffee (Nadine) still has fans credit to the actress not (GH writers at all). So, they decide to take her so NL can come back and play a character that does not fit her at all... GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
With all the GH writing supporting them Emily./Nikolas were boaring. Nadine and Nikolas managed to have a fan base even the writers not giving them their fair share of good stories but THE LOSS IS FOR GH. CLAIRE COFFEE I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST. You are doing your career a big favor leaving that show all together.

The TPTB at GH know how to waste a new talent. I understand that they keep bringing back the old fan favs ( assuming) from dead and give them a SL and pay them expensively but the writers cannot do SL for a character who is in PC for a year. Let's not forget what Nadine brought to GH. She brought a light in to dark GH which gives importance only to MOB WORLD.
No one can forget Johny's trail where Nadine pulled off a joke. It was the best comedy scene ever. Claire Coffee has got lot of talent. Hopefully someother show will recognise that. I want CC to succeed whatever she decides to do. Seriously GH, it's time that you guys stop writing stories involving jason, sonny, Z's ( mob) all their family and ex girlfriends, affaris whatever. Not to mention the violence, Nov sweeps was total waste of time. Now jason is again a hero in upcoming crisis. I thought docs, nurses will play major part. Yep, kill off all the nurses and docs so jason and sam can save entire PC. Bringing NL back and taking CC off contract won't resolve your rating problems. Change the writing department and try not to throw away bunch of actors to clean up your mess. Best of Luck CC. You deserve better.

I think deep down I could see the writing on the wall for the character of Nadine. Let's be honest. The Nadine that is on our screen now is nothing like the Nadine that was on our screen during the B&W Ball and pre-B&W Ball. That Nadine was less "aww shucks" and more "LuLu, the world does not revolve around you" (seriously, I loved her scenes in the barn during the B&W Ball). So they basically, to me, destroyed the character of Nadine. Then when they announced that NL (who to me is not a good actress) was coming back to the show, I basically did a countdown on when the other shoe was going to drop and Nadine was going to disappear off of our screen. Well, the shoe dropped and Claire is taken off of contract to bring on an actress I was happy to see go (did I mention I don't think she can act) who plays a character that just by watching today's episode can see I'm not really going to like (if she chewed that gum any harder, I was going to nominate her for the Happy Cow/California cow commercial). Not only that, but they are also bringing on another new character (Ethan)as they show Claire the door. They could have done so much with her character, but then I remember that this is GH and having a character evolve is really not their strong point. Reason why Jason was a mob enforcer without a family 11 years ago and has only took one step up to being a mob boss without a family. Maybe in another 11 years, he'll be a mafia don without a family.
So since GH decided to do this, I wish Claire great success. The next time she turns up, I hope it's on a show that is not only critically successful but a show that viewers rave about. Then TPTB at GH can sit back, scratch their heads and ask them did we make a dumb move getting rid of her and in a collective voice, we can all say "you're damn skippy."

This is not fair. GH is down in ratings not because of newcomers because of bad writing. Stop MOB SLs. If GH wants to cut the cost, get rid of the writing team and appoint some new writers who can really bring out the best in a actor.
Claire Coffee is a wonderful actress. I have seen her on other shows. She is amazing. GH turned her character so annoying for her haters to voice their opinions. I love Nadine. I am going to watch GH till Nadine is on. Gh ruins all the couples Liason, Nikadine and the rest are to come. Really Nadine doesnot have to depend on Nik. GH letting go of another great , upcoming actress is their loss. Claire , you are talented. I am sure you'll find better work than GH.

GH is a train wreck they can not manage their talent...good for Claire she should move on to something better than waste her career with GH...she really is talented and when you see her in other shows you know she is made for something better....!!!
I can not believe they ruined the character...well NL coming back will not even be the same as she looks very odd in that character... I will watch this show I wanted to stop after Liason but I tuned in when ever NIkodine or even just Nadine came along... and more fans will be disappointed than happy... GH the worst daytime show...

I know Claire Coffee is not new. She is on GH for a year now. What bothers me is the writers / producers decide to bring NL and they get rid of Nadine? That is not fair. If writers want Nik only to be paired with Emily look alike then they should have put Nadine with Matt or someone else. You cannot blame the actress for Nadine being dumb. It is the writers mistake. New actors need a chance. If the ratings are down, it is not the actors mistake. It is the stupid writing. Clean up the entire writing department who would only give importance to MOB SLs, betrayal, conmen etc. GH never really cares about women on the show. All I can say is Nik really used Nadine for comfort. Good for Nikolas. He will be back as old brooding Prince. GH needs to grow up.

GH is total waste of time. Gudos writers for ruining a potential character like Nadine. Claire Coffee is a amazing , beautiful actress. She deserves better than GH. Hopefully some other network will recognise her talent. I appreciate Claire for playing Nadine, who the writers made so dumb. If Guza, Frons knew that Emily is back, why did they build up sweet little romance with Nikadine. Can't they write a story without Emily for Nik? All Nik's formers lovers are not even mentioned. Nik doesnot even mention his kid or his mom. Nadine always brought up spencer talk. Good luck Nik with recycled tumour /Emily look alike SL. I have one thing to say to the writers, please make Nadine break up with Nik atleast show some respect for Nadine who literally saved Nikolas and changed him into a adorable, sweet prince. Now its gone. Welcome back old brooding Prince Nikolas!

GH sucks....You know am glad that atleast you are not sinking with the ship....They ruined Nadine...for no reason and..not this. There is no reason to get invested on the show..
By the way if there is going to be Metro Court part two when the hospital burns down two weeks from not I hope noone watches...! Nikolas will go back to being stupid storyline but hot guy!!! Best of Luck Claire ....I love your character reel..!!

Nadine was a great character...what was great about Nikolas before her...He got married or enaged every couple of year.. Nik and Emily put me to sleep they were decent for a small time....Nikolas is the most lame Russion Prince ever...wasn't he crying and making out with the couch before her...I mean TC is hot!!!! But Nikolas is dreadful even with his scenes with Jax now are stupid!!!!
Very best to Claire ...who btw has a very funny youtube channel (clairecoffee) I read somewhere about GH plans to burn down or explore the hospital in feb----totally stupid storyline and complete remake of the metro court except now it will be a hopital...Better writting staff please!!! or New Ideas

because of Nadine. TPTB were stupid to think most fans would want to watch a farm girl with Nikolas. She had the maturity of a 12 year old. Going around PC telling anyone who would listen how great sex was with Nikolas was awful. I won't even mention the beverly hillbilly family of hers.

I could rant on about this FOREVER!! However, most people on this board have already expressed my feelings so I will do a quick re-cap!
1) Why does GH throw away all the new comers? We are sick of the OLD and love the lightness that Nadine brought to the show! 2) WE ARE SICK OF THE MOB!!! it is all good and fun sometimes and I am not suggesting it should disapear! However, we want MORE as fans!! the show is called "General Hospital" not "War Zone of PC"! 3) Nikolas (character) was finally getting good and it has been YEAR since this has happened!! Now they are going to drag out this Nem Part Trillon on us? (we all know it is coming) 4) Disclaimer - I like NL she is a wonderul actress I just hope they don't put her new character through the agnoy of "Nem" ... FANS DO NOT WANT THIS! let the memories and love of this PAST daytime couple rest in peace!! they are going to end up ruining it! 4) I LOVE CLAIRE!! and she is one of my FAVS on GH!! I never cared for Prince Nikolas till Nadine came. She really changed Nikolas into a more likeable, sweet character. What that deserves a kick from the show? Well GH listen up why do u guys always kill or make a character leave especially a female character. I think GH is biased. They don't give importance for women on the show. I loved Nadine. She made me love Nikolas. Now that new Emily is back, Nik will go back to his brooding,dark character. I don't like that Nikolas. Well, Nadine has changed so much in Nikolas. It's sad that the writers/producers don't realise that and treat Nadine like she is of no use. Suddenly, Emily is the only solution to Nikolas. GH shouls change its title and keep " Mob PC". Throw away all nurses (leyla,Nadine) and docs because they are not in mob. GH is waste of time.

GH is really going to be off my list. I watch GH for Nikadine. I really liked the light, funny part that Nadine brought to GH. If Nadine as no family in PC, how spinelli is sticking around? Oh yeh, he works for Jason (mob prince). It really sucks the writers/ producers need to realise they are making a huge mistake. GH bring all oldies back just to get rid od new comers. Come on Mr.Frons, Mr. Guza give newcomers a chance. Don't use them and throw away within a year. If GH did this for ratings. It's pointless. OMG I can not believe this...GH is such a drag...they center that show on the mob and everyone connected to the hospital is expendible...Claire Coffee was a jem to that show and she even improved the character NIkolas...before Nikodine, Nikolas was making out with the sofa in the worst storyline ever...GOD I hope they will not recylce TC & NL...cause they can hook up on their own time!!!!

I can not belive GH!!!! She is very talented and very beautiful actress. The writers are taking away the only light part of GH...They could have wrote her better and used her talent well....GH sucks...all they do it recycle and recycle...
But I know she is in a couple of movies coming in the future and s probable primetime role with ABC so the loss is for GH.... VERY BEAUTIFUL Actress!!!!

It is a repeat , they did this with Logan, Coop and bunch of others. GH stating economy as reason. I don't think they pay CC that much as she is new. Why can't GH come right out and say NL is back so you are done? I hate when someone loses their job. I hope Claire finds new projects soon. She is talented. Now we have to see NL and TC together again. Good?? GH ruins all my fav couples. Nikadine is over. One more reason not to watch GH. Now go on Nikolas, tumour SL is recycled. I am shocked. I love Nadine for who she is. I have a question for GH. Why did they kill Emily? Why did they pair Nadine with Nik ? Why exactly NL is back again ( New Emily). All these happened within a year. Now Nikolas suddenly misses Emily just for Nadine to pack her bags and Rebecca(NL) to show up. It is really disappointing. If Nadine's character was not a hit, then I blame the writers. They don't know how to write. They know how to ruin a potential character. They are doing this again. I am so disappointed. I have been watching GH only for the past one year. I really like Nadine's character. If the writers can't pair Nadine with Nik why cannot pair with someone else. As a big Nadine fan and Nikadine fan, I am very disappointed. I did not expect this. This is why they brought NL back to the canvas. Good we are now expected to see a repeat of new Emily, old brooding prince Nikolas. All I can say is GH has totally ruined the Crowell family.It is writers mistake that they made Nadine in to dislikeable character for her haters. I thought GH had one good, funny, faithful, sweet, farm girl. Now it is over. Back to all women in PC who are unfaithful,cunning, control freaks. I hope they give her good farewell from the show. She deserves that.
