GL Spoilers: Week of August 17

SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE WANTS

Natalia returns to Springfield and encounters Father Ray. She tells him she knows what she wants and it's what God wants her to do. Natalia tells Blake that Springfield is her home and she knows it's where she wants to be. Father Ray asks Olivia if she has run into Natalia. Olivia tells him she has moved on from Natalia and is putting her life back together. Olivia takes Emma to the playground and encounters Natalia. Natalia apologizes to Olivia and tells her she has been in her thoughts every day since she left. Olivia is shocked when she learns Natalia is pregnant. Natalia admits the father of her baby is Frank. Natalia tells Olivia she is happy being pregnant and wants to be with her. Olivia pulls Emma away from Natalia when Emma is happy to see Natalia back.

Natalia and Olivia share an emotional confrontation as to why Natalia left town. Olivia walks away from her and goes to see Josh while Natalia encounters Frank. After Frank learns he's going to be a daddy, he tells her he'll be there for both her and their unborn child. She admits to him he is the father of her baby. Frank tells her, he will be there for her and the baby. Natalia informs Frank she wants to raise their child with him....and Olivia.

While in the middle of making love, Olivia admits to Josh that she's in love with Natalia. Josh doesn't want to get involved and Olivia leaves. She later runs into Frank and tells him to fight for what he wants even if what he wants is Natalia and the baby. When Natalia tells Rafe he's going to be a big brother he wonders if Frank is really the child's father. Natalia defends the choices she's made when Rafe insists she marry Frank. Later Rafe confronts Olivia about her relationship with his mother. Frank and Natalia go to tell his family the good news. Natalia daydreams about Olivia and the good times they shared -- while Olivia remembers the time she's spent with Natalia.

SPRINGFIELD HAPPENINGS

Billy plans a surprise wedding for him and Vanessa but things don't go as planned. Billy asks Josh to be his best man. Jonathan and Jeffrey's plans to deceive Edmund go wrong and they find themselves in harms way. Jeffrey insists Jonathan return to Springfield to keep Reva safe from Edmund. Edmund warns Jeffrey he must stay 'dead'. Reva re-lives the memories of her and Jeffrey. Josh finds a distraught Reva in her wedding dress, and tells her he cannot help her through her pain. Daisy and Ashlee discover Reva's pain of losing Jeffrey goes beyond grieving. Marina lectures Buzz about his spending habits, but he believes he'll be receiving money back from Cyrus' bail. Ashlee plots with Blake to conduct an interview with him for her new book.

natalia made a heroic decision in the past, and had to deal with other obstacles preventing her to be clearly decisive about her real feeling for O. her life

Olivia may not be alive if it weren't for Natalia's decision to allow Gus's heart be given to Olivia. So she's no wimp. She had to deal with her son's feelings about her new significant other, her upbringing of traditional family values and guilt about Frank's hurt feelings. Maybe she is insecure and was too afraid to tell O that she was going to leave Springfield. So let's cut N some slack!

Plea to the soap gods

Please invisible soap gods, please let us see all that is mentioned in the spoilers and let it all be pro-Otalia. Please let us see the true love Olivia and Natalia share. I am a new GL viewer but I enjoy my new Springfield friends so very much and will be sad to see them go away.

Guiding Light

It is sad that so many shows deteorate in quality so quickly. They don't last long. Usually the fans determine how long the show lasts and I can't say enough about Guiding Light. In terms of a tv show and in terms of a soap opera, take your pick. To last 72 years is unheard of. No company would pick up this show? Really? What is wrong out there? The FANS want it to continue. What does THAT say? Do you thinnk Proctor and Gamble make money off their sponsorship? Big time! So, as tv shows deteriorate, I think that is a direct reflection of society as a whole. Really, there is so much JUNK on the tube. What are the stoylines about? Reality? Looks more like Jerry Springer topics and people out of the studio. I choose NOT to watch much tv. I have my barely a handful shows that I watch. First ER and now Guiding Light. 16 and 72 years, respectively. Well, my consolation is that I have my computer.....RIP Guiding Light.

Otalia

First, I think Olivia is lying to Father Ray. He has not been supportive so why would she tell him how she feels now? Olivia is being the "old" Olivia by not welcoming Natalia back with open arms. Most anyone in that situation would do the same. You have to protect your heart. With that said, C'MON WRITERS! Why let the relationship take so many steps back when there is so little time left? Give the readers what they want for Otalia, a happy ending. Of course the script has already been written, but why not put it out there? This is REAL LIFE!!! Look at the support and the INCREASE in fan base since this story has evolved. You have brilliant actors who have dedicated their careers to make this happen. One more month. Let's hope Guiding Light gets the credit for a well written, groundbreaking story about REAL LIFE. If not someone else will but NO ONE WANTS TO WAIT ANYMORE!!!!

Olivia's Pride

Natalia is weak and always has been. It's completely in her character to run away to give herself time to figure out what to do. Look what she did to Frank? She may not have left town, but she sure did run! And Frank was left wondering what he did to cause it. How is this really different behavior for Natalia? I understand that because she supposedly REALLY loves Olivia she should treat her better than that. But maybe we're asking a leopard to change her spots here. Natalia's a runner. Olivia has put up with her, her weakness, her non-committal foot dragging, et al since Day 1, so Natalia's leaving for awhile shouldn't be a huge deal. Yes, it hurt. Yes, she left Olivia wondering if it was something she said or did, but the fact is, nothing more was hurt than Olivia's pride. Olivia believed Natalia was hers, and Natalia's leaving made her question that belief, and made her feel like a fool. But Natalia didn't betray her, didn't sleep with someone else (which Olivia's about to do with Josh perhaps, which IS in Olivia's character to do!), she didn't tell Olivia it was over... she just left. Sometimes people do that, and they hope that the ones they leave behind know and love them enough to give them their space, and have enough belief in them to know that they'll come back and explain everything when they're ready. Buzz Cooper comes to mind here. His family forgave him for leaving for years and years. Olivia should forgive Natalia and get on with it. They love each other, they belong together, they're happy when they're together, and Natalia, with all her faults, does soften Olivia's edges - with all HER faults. That said, I like them both and always have, and will miss them especially when this show is over.

I hate the baby on board s/l there was no reason to fall back on such an old soap filler. Come on it's five months to late plus why just why have them linked to Frank for life there is no reason for it NONE.

Why on the gl website where the characters list what's important to them their playlist, 20 things about them(clever by the way)etc.
when phillip says what's important to him and they show a picture of Lizzie and James, there's no picture of Zach?
Why is Phillip worried about the spaulding curse? He and his children are Marlers although the way Dinah turned out that might not make him feel any better.

Oliva's Pride?

I think Olivia has every right to feel the way she does. And why should Natlia get off scott free when what she should have done was to tell Olivia that was going on with her. She had already told her that she slept with Frank yonks ago before they even declared their love to each other. I know I would rather deal with the problem than to wonder why you were left behind by the person who claims to love you. If you can't be honest with the person you love and wnat to be your partner then you deserve to get some flack for it.

Natalia's Return and Olivia's Pride

So Olivia's been pining after Natalia since she left, and certainly she's hurt, but how could she walk away from her? She's been so understanding about EVERYTHING with Natalia, how could she not be understanding about this?! Olivia - go back to Natalia. Natalia - accept her with open arms. You two belong together, are good for each other, and Rafe can just get over it.
