Results From Our 'One Life' Summer Hit Pairing Poll

The Polls Are Closed And The Results Are In!

After five days of voting, the polls are officially closed and the results are in! We asked "One Life to Live" fans what couples they felt would be a hit this summer. Based on our pre-selections, you decided two winners that will move on to round to and represent "One Life to Live."

Your winners, with a total of 28,789 votes cast....

First Place - Starr & Cole with 34.1% of the vote (9,823 votes)

Second Place - Jessica & Brody with 29.7% of the vote (8,538 votes)

It was a week full of ups and downs. Viki & Charlie and Rex & Gigi took an early lead with Jessica & Brody in a close third. Midway through voting, fans of Starr & Cole rallied hard, encouraging their fellow fans on twitter and other message boards to vote for their couple. and Natalie & Jared came out full force, dominating the polls for a full day. During the last stretch, Jessica & Brody fans pulled out the stops to ensure their couple would make the top two.

Starr & Cole and Jessica & Brody will go on to represent "One Life to Live" in the final round of our "ABC Summer Hit" Couple Poll. Starr & Cole and Jessica & Brody will go up against the top two "All My Children" and "General Hospital" couples.

Polls opened at 2:30AM Monday morning for the "General Hospital" poll. Only current and upcoming pairings are available for voting.

On Friday, July 10, the second and final round will begin to decide the summer hit couple for ABC Daytime!

On Wednesday, July 15, our "Days of Our Lives" poll will be available. Only current and upcoming pairings will be available for voting.

The first day of the poll I noticed Rex and Gigi going up by hundreds in a matter of minutes, but like someone before me said. It's a fun poll, no need to stress.

I love Starr/Cole and Jessica/Brody so I am very happy.

The other day I noticed that the total for Starr and Cole went up a thousand votes in a matter of a few minutes. I personally don't think that 1,000 actual people all voted for the same couple at the same time. However, no matter how any of these results were achieved, it's just a fun poll. This isn't life or death.

I'm not pointing fingers at any board or pairing, I'm just questioning the realism of those numbers as a whole. Fingers shouldn't be pointed as the rules even state multiple votes are allowed in one day, though it doesn't give the limit that is allowed. At that point, I'm unsure of why they give out the actual numbers of votes, since they are totally inflated.

While you may not allow robot voting, it does allow for a human to sit here and vote for hours on end and counts them. Otherwise, those numbers mean that there are 28,000 unique visitors to the site in the time frame that voted only once.

So you're telling me that the Starr/Cole fans, and Jared/Natalie fans had absolutely no idea this poll exsisted. They didn't advertise it on their board and tell people to vote for their couple.

That's such crap. I don't appreciate people giving You Found Me a bad name just because your couple didn't win. Sorry you guys didn't vote as much. That's not my problem.

There was one thread that asked the members to vote for Jessica & Brody. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. All fanbases and message boards bring to light polls and such so their couple can win. Of course you want the couple you're rooting for to win.

We don't know that OTHER fanbases didn't let their board know about the poll. And I don't understand why only You Found Me and Jessica/Brody fans are being accused.

And if people seem to "know" this then they clearly are a member of the board, and if you're not a fan, why are you a member to begin with.

Kelly - I, along with tee, am a member of You Found Me. There is ONE thread there where the poll is advertised and it mentions ONCE that people are allowed to vote more than once. (And don't tell me other message boards did not advertise it too.) I am sure that fans of the other couples voted more than once for their favorites. Why pick on the Jessica/Brody fans? Maybe it was all a matter of Jessica and Brody fans just simply being dedicated to their favorite couple. Maybe there was some robo-voting involved (throughout the poll). Maybe not. But is it really necessary to accuse a certain group of fans from a certain message board just because YOU aren't happy with the results or just because YOU don't like that couple? That's just pathetic.

Re: Results

Many times the votes are delayed by a couple hours depending on the setting of the cache. Some votes show immediately, others don't. And we did throw out robovotes that were spam.

Colleen - No it does not, I was on here almost everyday checking and at one point in the middle of the night there were only 107 people online and in a matter of 4 minutes the Jessica and Brody votes went up by hundreds somehow I doubt that every fan online was a Jess/Brody fan and plus their votes went up by MUCH more than just the 100 people that were online it was HUNDREDS. When I went to the Jessica and Brody board "You Found Me" I discovered there posters were telling everyone to vote over and over again continuously until "Jody" were #1. So yeah these results are more than just a little robovoted.

Curious about votes vs traffic

Does the amount of those votes vibe with traffic on the site? It seems with 28,000 some votes, there's another case of robot voting or people there for hours on end.
